I graduated from Charleston Southern University, where I earned my B.S. Degree in Political Science with a minor in Speech and Communications. I also received a Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree from South Carolina State University in Elementary Education, and an Ed.S Degree in Educational Administration.  While attending South Carolina State University, I became a member of the distinguished sorority of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated.

I taught 4th grade English Language Arts for 16 years at Whittaker Elementary School.  I was the Whittaker Elementary School Teacher of Year 2007-2008. Additionally, as a classroom teacher I was awarded the Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five Outstanding Teaching and Learning Award for consecutive years.  Presently, I am a proud member of the Brookdale Elementary School "Soaring Eagles" family serving as the South Carolina Read to Succeed Literacy Coach.

I have been blessed to be an educator for 20 wonderful years! I truly believe that in educating our children failure is not an option, and success and fulfillment is achieved through prayer, hard work, and dedication. I enjoy working with the students, staff, and parents of Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five.  When I am not teaching/coaching, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, reading a good book, shopping, or relaxing at the beach!  In the summer, you can usually find me traveling to new and exciting destinations.
